Minesing Minor Ball, with the generous support of Boston Pizza Wasaga Beach, held our first ever fundraising dinner on June 10th.
With the costs of running the organization always increasing we were looking for ways to raise additional funds in a way that was not a huge burden on our already busy membership.
Alex and Sandy Smardenka, owners of Boston Pizza Wasaga Beach, stepped up to the plate offering to hold a fundraising dinner with the proceeds of ticket sales donated back to Minesing Minor Ball.
We had over 80 players, parents and families enjoy a buffet dinner of pizza, pasta and salad put on by the staff of Boston Pizza.
A great time was had by all and we were successful in raising over $1200 for Minesing Minor Ball to help with the costs of running ball and to keep it an affordable activity for our kids to keep playing.
To put the fundraising $$$ in perspective we recently replaced catchers equipment for the Tyke, Mite and Squirt teams at a cost of just under $1700. Those funds will go a long way to help with the other costs of running the organization for like uniforms, trophies, umpires, diamond fees, etc. Without some fundraising the costs of those items have to be covered by increases to registration fees.
Thanks to everyone that attended and don’t forget that throughout the year you can take your family to Boston Pizza and Swiss Chalet in Wasaga Beach and support our fundraising efforts by letting your server know that you are supporting Minesing Minor Ball. A portion of all food sales throughout the year will also be donated back to Minesing Minor Ball. So if you’re heading out for lunch/dinner with the family stop by and continue to support our fundraising efforts!
